This module is designed to give us an opportunity to promote themselves via exhibition to show case what we have achieved and learned over three years of studying. After last week, I am not understand this class what should I do. Then through the teacher and my group member’s help I began to know this module. In this week, I find some information on the exhibition. I studied the details of the exhibition and know what should I prepared before the exhibition. For this course I got my own ideas, so I will talk about to my group in this week Last week I main research is 798 Art Zone, Beijing, China. The Arts District, there are many exhibitions for each year, and this is a strong arts culture place. This place is different from other parts of the exhibition, first the space is different from many Western countries, most exhibitions are offered in an arts center, and a good indoor facility. But Beijing 798 Art Zone is different from other countries. It considers the simplest things are beautiful. The exhibition is to highlight the work itself, rather than the environment, and therefore the environmental facilities 798 Art Zone exhibition is very simple, and very old, but it has its own style. The following pictures show that the 798 Art Zone in exhibitions. Through to find this information, I know a lot about the exhibition of knowledge, I believe that it is helpful me in this course.

The history of 798 Art Zone

The area occupied by Beijing 798 Art Zone was once the place for Beijing North China wireless joint equipment factory (namely, 718 Joint Factory), which was designed and built by the experts of former G.D.R in the 1950s. The Joint Factory was designed to be built in 1952, constructed from 1954,put into production in October 1957.
The designing task of the 718 Joint Factory was in the charge of a German architectural institution in Dessau, which lied in the same city with Bauhaus school at that time and they two shared the same architectural spirits whose main characteristics are meeting the practical demands; bringing the technical and aesthetic property of new materials and new structure into effect; designing simply and composing pictures vividly with flexibility. That is the genre what later called Bauhaus.
On The April,1964, the supervisor units canceled the organizational system of 718, established 706,707,718,797,798 and 751. The former six factories of 700, 706, 707, 718, 797, and 798 were reorganized and incorporated into Beijing Sevenstar Science and Technology Co., LTD in December, 2000. To cooperate the reforming plan of Dashanzi Area, the Seven Group rented out these plants for short term. Attracted by ordered designing, convenient traffic, unique style of Bauhaus architecture, many art organizations and artists came to rent the vacant plants and transformed them, gradually formed a district gathered galleries, art studios, cultural companies, fashion shops etc. As the earliest area where the art organizations and artists moved in located in the original area of 798 factory, this place was named as Beijing 798 Art Zone.


Introduction 798 Art Zone

Mottled red-brick wall，Scattered orderly industrial plants, crisscross pipelines, slogans of different ages on the wall. Uniformed workers and fashion visitors form a unique scenery. History and reality, industry and the arts perfectly fit here.
Beijing 798 art zone lies in the 718 factory of Beijing Sevenstar Science and Technology Co., LTD.(short for Sevenstar Group) Jiuxianqiao Road, Dashanzi Area, Chaoyang District. A total construction area of 230,000 square meters assembles many cultural elements such as galleries, design studios, art exhibition spaces, artists’ studios, fashion shops, restaurants etc. In 798 Art Zone, there are nearly 400 organizitions including galleries, artists’ private studios,cultural companies like animated cartoon, television media, publishing, design and consultation, which comes from France, Italy, Britain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Japan, Australia, South Korea, China, China Taiwan, Hong Kong and other countries and regions.798 Art Zone has become an exhibition center of Chinese culture and art, an influential cultural creative concentration area home and abroad.
Beijing 798 Art Zone gathers a number of celebrities of art and culture, art institutions and enterprises in fashion. Many important international art exhibitions, art activities and fashion shows are often hold there, which attract many worldwide political importance , movie stars and social celebrities .Since 2004, lots of celebrities have been to 798 Art Zone , including Prime Ministers from Sweden, Switzerland ,and Austria ,ex-prime minister from German (Schroeder),the president of European Union(Barroso)，the queen of Belgium, wife of Annan ,French expresident Chirac’s wife, Norway prime minister’s wife and Belgium Crown Prince. Countless international big brands like Sony, Motorola , West Wasted , Dior, Omega ,BMW, Chinese Yahoo had made promotions here.
In 2006，Beijing 798 Art Zone was listed respectively as one of the first concentrations of cultural creative industry by Beijing Civic and Chaoyang District Government, also named as “Beijing 798 Art Zone Cultural Creative Industrial Base of Zhong Guan Cun Electronic City” by Zhong Guan Cun management committee. The atmosphere as a“creative zone, cultural park” is forming, In order to boost the prosperity and development of 798 Art Zone, Chaoyang District Government and Seven Star group co-founded the Beijing 798 Art Zone Development and Administration office, with the principle of “coordination , service, introduction ,management”, to boost the development of contemporary art and culture creative industry in art zone.
Beijing 798 Art Zone international activities:
Beijing 798 Art festival：Hold from the end of April to the end of May, focusing on exhibition and communication of culture and art.
Beijing 798 creative art festival：Hold from the end of September to the end of October, focusing on exhibition and communication of culture and art.
In the future, the 798 office will attract lots of famous artists and art organizations from domestic and abroad, according to the instruction policy of “protection, exploration ,stability , development”, to build Beijing 798 Art Zone as the center of the exhibition and trade of culture and art, as the most unique and influential cultural creative industry basement in Beijing and the worldwide cultural creative industry park.

A good exhibition, not only requires good works, but also need to have a reasonable arrangement and publicity.
I looked up some information, I got a few points. The first is the layout of the exhibition is very important. According work’s size and type of features to design it should be placed in position. I think the exhibition should give audiences a broad vision, because when the audiences see the whole exhibition, they will be able to know the main contents of the exhibition. Secondly, the layout must be innovative. The same type of work can interspersed a number of different ornaments, such as sculpture, or some innovative work.
